Who are we
Quinta Brava is a place where people can connect with Oaxaca through its cuisine, ingredients, traditions, and people. It is a traditional village/ranch-style kitchen located in the heart of Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán, where fire, land and culture come together to create unique culinary experiences.
Under the guidance of Chef Miguel Álvarez and his team of local cooks, Quinta Brava preserves and shares the flavors of Oaxaca through traditional dishes prepared using ancestral techniques, local ingredients, and wood-fired stoves. Each dish preserves the knowledge passed down through generations and teaches processes of Oaxacan cuisine which can be recreated and enjoyed after the class.
Quinta Brava is not just a restaurant; it is also a school, a home, a local farm, and a place of shared experience. During our cooking classes, visitors aren’t spectators, but the main cooks of their own experience: they gather ingredients, prepare and cook their food, and enjoy the results while discovering the stories and secrets behind each dish.
